March 12, Eye doc & Ped. Neurologist visit, both on Oahu island

Samudra eyes were checked for the first time by a ped.ophthalmologist also we took him to a ped. neorologist, both on Oahu Island. His previous eye doctors are the specialist for preemie & the glaucoma specialist. Ok here is the complete story:

** EYE DOCTOR at KAISER HONOLULU CLINIC **
with Doc. Nishimura

Sam's was found to have a bad case of near sightness. The good news is considering his eye surgeries in the past, doctor has seen worse cases.

Samudra will be in to wear glasses in about 3-4 weeks. The doctor did say that the glasses could repair his sight. Time will only tell us about this.

Sam tried 2 glasses in the Honolulu clinic, not too many choices for infant. Actually I like the blue glasses but they are too big for Sam, so the only option is the brown one with gold trim frame.

Eyeglasses are NOTHING for us compare to what doctor told us that Sam was almost blind before.

*** PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST at KAPIOLANI HOSPITAL***
After he has his eyes checked, he also had a visit with a neurologist. The doctor was pleased with Samudra's reflexes and movements. However he commented about his head circumference should be around 45-46 cm. Samudra's was 41cm. Although this is very common among micropreemies & hopefully he will catch up. If not, an MRI may be required, which could be bad news if something is detected.

There will be one more med.trip this month, and will be the "BIG ONE" because doctor will put sam under anesthesia for eye exam. After that doctor also will tell us if Sam needs another eye surgery or not. Please pray for our little Sammy. Thank you.
